The show has opened and the reviews are beginning to flood in... here's the beginning of our ongiong hunt for what you, the audience had to say.

"I was having another shit day at work when my husband gave me a quick call saying:’ I’ve got the tickets to the theatre for tonight…would you like to come?’ I thought it’d be a great way to unwind a bit, and didn’t even ask what was on.

So, with a splitting headache I went to the theatre that same night and the show that we were to watch turned out to be ‘The Vegemite Tales’ - a group of bubbling Aussie drunk on freezing VBs. Oh well, so be it!

The show started with a short monologue of Sam, an Aussie architect living in London for over 7 years. The moment he started telling his story I thought, Gosh it is gonna be sooooooooo boring… how wrong I was!

The show was full of vulgarity and uncouth Aussie pranks. It portrayed the life of Aussie emigrants in London in a hilarious way. Dan, a young rooster with a dropping problem between his pants, Eddie the unlucky bastard, Giovanni the enemy of all nasty c***s on the Tube, and Sam formed the male part of the typical Aussie London abode. Gemma, Jane and on and off again visitor Maddy balanced the testosterone-ridden atmosphere of the house. Maddy is a lovely girl, though shockingly old for a virgin… whilst Jane (an artist from Melbourne), proves to be a difficult housemate to live with. Her ‘bitchiness’ only wears off when Gemma is faced with a difficult life choice and Sam’s decision to leave for the Antipodes.

The show is full of funny dialogues heavily laced with f*** and d****** and c*** words. Although the play may come across as a rude and loutish, it touches upon many sensitive and private matters. Amongst these, life choices, the clash of cultures and ways of life in a city so far away from home, yet so close to the heart of many Aussies.

It is a great show, worthy your attention and also proves to be highly helpful for splitting headaches…"

We came, we saw, and we dodged the mud and downed the wine at the Toast Australia Festival at Fulham Palace over the weekend. The devoted Vegemite Tales mob were there in force, wading through the mud and spreading the Vegemite love.

Blair and Jonathon braved more than the mud when they took on the man-eaters and all round sex godesses Kath and Kim in the 'kitchen'. The challenge was simple - make a ripper sandwich. The result? For the lads it was a "Rough and ready male type of sandwich you'd throw together after a night out".

The ladies produced something less glamorous. "That's one thing you could call it... simple. Disgusting is another".

There's nothing like a bit of 'stud' action to kick off the month of July.

Our roving Theatre Buff will interview actors Blair McDonough and Jonathon Dutton about their roles in The Vegemite Tales - and life in London and beyond. In case you don't recognise their names, Blair was the ladies' favourite in Australian Big Brother and Neighbours. Jonathon starred in Neighbours as Tad (Toadie's little brother). He's also fresh out of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. And yes, the lad has grown up - lock up your daughters!

We want to ask the questions that YOU, the fans have. Be imaginative... there's a pair of tickets up for grabs for the best one.

Post your questions in the comments section - may the best little Vegemite win.
